Discussing the word "Diva" - Part 2

Ok, let's explore this word "diva" some more. Now, another description of the word "diva" per wikepedia is a celebrated female singer. The term is used to describe a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera, and by extension in theatre, cinema, and popular music. The meaning of diva is closely related to that of "prima donna". Interesting, will take a look at "prima donna" later. So, what is intriguing to me is how this word "diva" has tranistioned into mainstream, on the street and culture to mean something totally different. This raised questions in me like, what is diva?, what is the criteria to be a diva?, and where did this criteria come from? Let's talk.

  1. I am seeing articles online about "diva-tude", they are comparing who needs a "tude check". I really think this word is being misused.
